Ok, as I said in my previous post, I donated blood last Wednesday. I know, I’m such a procrastinator, it actually took me a week to pass by before I actually wrote this down.
First of all, I found out that my blood type is B. Yippee!! After living 18 years of my life, I finally know my blood type. If I ever come across another question about my blood type, I will now have an answer to it.
Anyway, that is not the main point of me writing this post. I would actually like to show my experience of donating blood instead, since I find it so fascinating.
This was my view from where I was sitting. My leg was hoisted up in the air, to let my blood flow faster back to my body. The pink thing on my leg is the bucket that was used by the nurses to place all the required things for me to donate my blood. You know, like the injection that I need to take before donating my blood and some other stuff that I can’t remember at the moment.
This is my arm, hooked up with the needle. The red tube is my blood flowing to the blood bag(?). I had to hold the grey plastic pipe thingy and squeeze it continuously, effectively acting like a personal blood pump. It actually gets tiring after awhile.
This on the other hand, is my bag of blood. That is 450ml of blood. It’s the normal amount of blood a person donates. Though if you’re too light or due to some other reasons, you‘ll be only required to donate 350ml.
The above one is my hand with a plaster, directly after my hand stop bleeding while the one below is when I’d gotten rid of the plaster. There is one obvious hole on my hand, but if you closely enough, you can see a second mini hole. It kind of reminds me of a vampire bite, though it’s on my arm and not on my neck. Haha..
And this is my certificate and the blood donor book.
Truth be told, I actually nearly fainted after I donated my blood. I didn't get enough rest and I got up too fast. Now that I look back t it, I find it all very amusing. But I don't think I'll be donating my bood again anytime soon. Because I found out that you'll gain double the weight that you lost after donating blood. *Holds and shakes head while screaming 'Nooo!!'*
Now on a totaly random note, this is the random picture that I took when I was bored in English class, on Monday. I look like I'm busy studying and writing down notes, something that is definitely not what I do in class. Haha!!
