In Memory Of Kichi

A terrible thing happened yesterday. My hamster, Kichimayong Wong Wammie, passed away. The cause of death is unknown. I presume it to be old age. She was fine and healthy on Thursday. But on Friday, her health condition suddenly worsen and she couldn’t get up. Her once always running around and hiding from me personality changed. She didn’t move when I wanted to scoop her into my hand. She just lie down all the time and even ignore food.

IGNORE FOOD!!! That was when I know that something was not right. I immediately try to identify the problem but with no such luck. After we tried to make her eat food and drink her water, she seemed to be getting better. However, things changed for the worse and she passed away on Saturday. Soon after that, we gave her a mini burial.

Isn't she just adorable? This is one of my favourite photos of her. She's doing what she loves best, which is sleeping. But she's doing it so cutely.

This was taken on Friday. She was so sick that she couldn't walk. She didn't run away once she was on the floor, like how she normally would.
